There is a phrase that keeps being repeated to us by Pastors in the Philippines. It is “no work – no eat members”. They have been explaining to us that segments of their congregation are basically daily laborers. When the quarantines and lockdowns went into effect that meant they were not able to earn money for food. The government there has not been able to provide sustainable assistance. Thankfully it has created an atmosphere for churches to shine. We have been sending funds for food relief to pastors in urban areas where the people do not have the land or ability to grow or gather their own food. These pastors have been coordinating food distributions to show the love of Christ in a very practical and desperately needed way.
