In northern Bangladesh there is the Home of Peace that normally houses and provides an education for approximately 500 orphan and at-risk children from around the country. Because of the rapid shut down of busses and transportation for the Covid pandemic, 250 of these children were not able to make it home before the lockdown and remain on site. In addition to the pandemic, the country has also experienced several cyclones and flooding that has destroyed houses and crops and caused food prices to double and triple. So during this time we are coordinating relief efforts to ensure that these children’s basic needs are met for the duration of this crisis, as well as providing help for some in the south that have lost their homes in cyclones in addition to the pandemic.
