Serving the Supreme God

IMG_3649

Often we are surprised by what God does and how He works. As we have been teaching the book of Colossians recently in the Philippines, we are reminded that Jesus is supreme. Jesus holds everything together. He holds us in his hands and he holds us together! We would like to share some ways God has done this in the past month. Nothing God does is insignificant. His care for us is not insignificant. His work and his kingdom advances irregardless of what is happening around us.

In July we hosted a team from Bible Center Church in Maiden Rock, WI. It is rainy season here in the Philippines which usually means it rains for 1-2 hours every day but also there is the chance of a typhoon. The day the team was to fly in they were predicting a super typhoon but it changed course and went north instead of hitting the Philippines. Several days later we were scheduled to go 1 hour outside the Manila area and conduct an outreach with the Dumagat people living in the Sierra Madre mountains. That morning they informed us that schools were closing because they were expecting flooding and they asked us if we wanted to cancel or if we had faith. We replied that we had faith! It was not raining at the time and before  leaving we prayed that God would cause it not to rain there until we were finished with the outreach. The whole time we were doing the outreach it did not rain. People were calling us to make sure we were ok because it had started to flood in Manila. We had no rain until we were in the van, heading back to the church!
